Joshua Harris

Joshua Harris is the senior pastor of Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Maryland, a role he assumed from C.J. Mahaney in 2004.

In 1997, he was publishing a magazine and conducting conferences for teens when he met C.J. Mahaney. Motivated by a desire to be mentored and a growing conviction about the importance of the local church, Josh moved from Portland, Oregon, where he’d grown up, to Maryland to serve as a pastoral intern at Covenant Life. Later that year his first book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, was released.

In the years that followed, Josh served in various roles at Covenant Life and traveled with C.J. to many Sovereign Grace conferences, building friendships and a deep love for this family of churches. Under C.J.’s direction, Joshua founded Next(formerly New Attitude), a worship and teaching conference for young adults.

In addition to serving on the Sovereign Grace Leadership Team, Joshua is a member of the Gospel Coalition Council and the Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood.

Joshua is married to Shannon. They have a boy and two girls, and live in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
