What are you emphasizing when you train leaders?
Justin Holcomb was recently interviewed by Doug Wilson at the Grace Agenda: Makers Conference.
We've started the clip about 25 minutes in where Pastor Justin addresses training those who don't have a church background, get saved, and then find themselves in ministry. Through personal experience, he talks about what the teaching need is here. We at the Resurgence Training Center assumed biblical literacy for the first year of Re:Train, but found out that wasn't the case. Now a good deal of emphasis is on hermeneutics and biblical theology to train leaders how to read Scripture and communicate what it is saying well. Pastor Justin then gives a snapshot of what life at Re:Train looks like.
Feel free to drag the clip back to the beginning and watch the whole interview, which covers issues from sex-trafficking to training men to cultural presence and change in the city.
