Get to Know Craig Groeschel
Chat with Craig Groeschel and Mark Driscoll Thursday, August 16, 12:30 PDT (GMT -7) on Google+ Hang Out on Air
Then come see Craig Groeschel live at the 2012 Resurgence Conference this October 9-10
Christian conferences tend to be very tribal. All the prophets get together and nerd out on theology while complaining about the kings and priests. Kings get together and nerd out about spreadsheets, budgets, and buildings while complaining about prophets and priests. And priests get together to nerd out about counseling and small groups while complaining about kings and prophets. You get the idea.
This is a problem because it takes all these personality types and giftings to have a strong and healthy church. Prophets, priests, and kings all need to be humble enough to teach and learn from each other for the good of God’s kingdom and to see many people meet Jesus effectively, faithfully, and personally.
So, we’ve gone ahead and put together the most diverse lineup of speakers we could find for our very first Resurgence Conference. There’s something for everyone—and something for everyone to learn.
Craig is the Jedi master of innovation and technology in the church world.
For some of you, you’ll not be familiar with a speaker because they’re so far out of your tribe. So, I thought I’d take some time to introduce you to some of these speakers through Google+ Hang Out on Air.
We’ve got Greg Laurie up first and then it’s Pastor Craig Groeschel, senior pastor of Lifechurch.tv. I’ll be hanging out with Craig online on Thursday, August 16 at 12:30 p.m. PDT for however long he has. I’ll be interviewing him, and in addition to that, you’ll be able to send in your questions and we’ll pick the best ones to have him answer. I want to thank Craig for taking time to graciously meet with me to discuss his testimony and ministry, and to help you get to know him better in preparation for the conference.
For those who are new to Craig, he is the Jedi master of innovation and technology in the church world. Lifechurch.tv is a video-venue church based in Oklahoma City and is probably the biggest church in the U.S. (we don’t know that for sure because Craig doesn’t share his attendance numbers by conviction of the Holy Spirit). The church is consistently listed by Outreach magazine as the most innovative church in America.
In addition to the massive growth in attendance through technology, Lifechurch.tv also created the YouVersion Bible app, which is now on over 50 million smartphones. I don’t care what tribe you come from, whether you’re Calvinist or Arminian, you have to be happy with 50 million people reading their Bible!
So, if you want to learn more about Craig and innovation and technology in the church, join us for the Google+ Hang Out on Air on August 16 at 12:30 p.m. PDT (GMT -7).
And make sure to also join us for the 2012 Resurgence Conference October 9–10 in Irvine, California, to hear Craig live and learn how your church can leverage technology and innovation to reach more people for Jesus.
