'Lord Have Mercy': New Video from Lecrae
We’re big fans of Lecrae at Resurgence. Today, he released the first music video for his upcoming album, Gravity. We dig it. We thought we’d share it with our readers.
Not only does he make great music, but he also is a great missionary with a continually growing platform in mainstream hip-hop. For this reason, we’ve invited him to speak on engaging culture at our 2012 Resurgence Conference in Irvine this October. As an unashamed Christian proclaiming Jesus in his music, Lecrae has reached #17 on the Billboard charts and #3 on iTunes for his Grammy-nominated album Rehab. Gravity, set to be released on September 4, is expected to propel him further into the mainstream spotlight. You won’t want to miss his insights on cultural engagement for Jesus’ sake.
As Lecrae describes his calling to be a Christian in the world of hip-hop, "For me it’s not a challenge, because it’s authentically who I am on both sides. I’m not fighting to stay hip-hop. I am hip-hop. I am the culture, but I’m a Christian, and I have a relationship with God and so my relationship is going to bleed out into everything that I am and everything that I do. And me being a part of hip-hop is going to be a part of everything I am and everything I do.”
Get to know Lecrae better by hearing his I Am Second testimony.
Lecrae will be speaking at our upcoming Resurgence 2012 Conference.
