The Explicit Gospel Tour Photo Essay

Resurgence » Art Gospel

We've had an amazing time so far traveling with Pastor Matt Chandler on the Explicit Gospel Tour down the East Coast. We have felt so encouraged meeting everyone and talking with people about the new book along the way at the four stops so far—and we've got three more left to go! We're also excited to announce that we'll be livestreaming the event tomorrow night in Orlando thanks to LifeWay. Check back on the Resurgence tomorrow for the post. In the meantime, here are some photos we've gathered along the way:

The wheels on our bus have gone round and round for about 1,000 miles so far.

Apostles Church in New York City hosted our first event. The church, built in 1811, was amazing.

Apostles Lead Pastor JR Vassar, right, talks with Pastor Matt Chandler before the book signing.

Pastor Matt has been doing book signings before and after every event.

Audrey, Pastor Matt's daughter, joined him on signing some books. Pastor Matt's whole family has joined us on the tour.

Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia was the second stop on the tour with Lead Pastor Eric Mason. Small side streets + huge busses = crazy times

Shane & Shane, longtime friends of Pastor Matt, have been leading worship for the events.

Scott Lindsey of Logos (one of our tour sponsors) is on the bus with us. We kick off every event with him teaching the congregation how to study the Bible with Logos software.

Pastor Matt writes a personalized message while signing someone's book.

The book signing line tends to get pretty long. If you're planning on getting your book signed, get there early.

"Our God is great, our God is stronger."

"I trust in you, Jesus, come through."

Pastor Matt brings it at the Summit Church in Durham, North Carolina.

A visit to NewSpring Church and Pastor Perry Noble in South Carolina marked the fourth stop on the tour.

Pastor Matt shared the stage with Adam and Eve, the subjects of NewSpring's current sermon series.

James and Lindsey from Crossway (another tour sponsor) were hanging out and exhibiting a lot of the new Bibles and books Crossway has out.

When it comes to book towers, we have one rule: go big or go home.

"For freedom you set me free, and yes, I am free indeed. You rewrote my name, unshackled my shame, and opened my eyes to see I am free."

"Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Praise the one risen Son of God!"

Pastor Matt prays over everyone to close his talk on the gospel.

Tonight, the tour will make a stop at Cumberland Community Church in Smyrna, Georgia. Tomorrow night, Pastor Matt will be at CrossPointe Church in Orlando, and then on Sunday, he'll be heading back to his home state of Texas to preach at Austin Stone Community Church. For more details on the tour, visit the tour page. You can preorder Pastor Matt's new book, The Explicit Gospel, here.
