Congratulations Exchange Ticket Winners

Resurgence
We recently decided to give away some free tickets to the Exchange Conference in San Diego. All you had to do to enter the giveaway was go on our Facebook page and tell us how the conference would help you. Below are the responses we picked. We're looking forward to seeing you at Exchange!

How will the Exchange conference help you?

I am in great need of these free tickets. I am a youth pastor at a small church in Lancaster, California, and am also currently obtaining my M.A. in Biblical Studies. This conference would help me take what I am learning in class and apply it in a biblical way to how I deal with what I am seeing my students experience on a weekly basis. It is very difficult, at times, to identify the dangers of our culture and this conference would help me teach my students to exchange the lies for the Truth. I am a poor college student with a wife and 1-year-old son and I just cannot afford to attend conferences on my own dime. I thank you for your consideration. - Clayton Dyas I am a youth leader from a small church in Chino, CA. We are currently in financial hardship, so free tickets would definitely be a blessing. Our church is about 80 members, 40 of which are high school/college-aged students, which explains why our church struggles at times to make ends meet. Moreover, about 80% of these students have parents who are unbelievers so they cannot count on their financial support for events such as this. I would like to attend the Exchange Conference because it serves as a great opportunity to learn how to live lives centered on the Gospel amidst all the lies and distractions our current culture throws at us. It helps to get insight on different aspects of life including marriage, the church, sexuality, worship, and even parenting which is crucial for these students to learn during this time of their lives. This would also be beneficial because I recently started an on-campus ministry at the University of Southern California reaching nonbelievers with the cooperation of local churches such as Reality LA (Pastor Tim Chaddick) and CrossView Church (Pastor PJ Tibayan, a current ReTrain student). I feel this conference would definitely give me insight. I am currently enrolled at USC pursuing law as well as attempting to attain an MA in Biblical Theology at Talbot Theological Seminary. Even one ticket would be a great help. Thank you and God Bless! - Danny Hernandez Although I am not currently a student in California, I will be attending UCLA in the fall of 2010 for graduate school. Free tickets to the Exchange conference would be an absolute blessing to me. My family and I have been dealing with a huge financial problem (stemming from medical bills, divorce lawyer fees, college education, etc). As the only Christian in my family, my family will not financially support me to go to such a conference and will count it as a waste, especially during our financially difficult time. But I know that I must attend this conference. God has placed on my heart an urgency to spread the Gospel. He is calling me to go to LA for the next six years of my life to serve Him. In a recent sermon from my pastor, he mentioned that we as servants should know the hearts of the people that we serve and know their culture. It was then that I knew that I needed to do some research on LA culture, which of course, includes Hollywood - one of the topics that will be discussed at the conference. Also, I am in a season of my life where I may not be prepared for marriage and parenting, but I need to be exposed to both the truth and the lies to deepen my understanding. I am ready and willing to be used by God to advance the Kingdom, but I know that I must be prepared to fight off the lies of culture. I can say with confidence that going to this conference will bring me one step closer to doing so. - Melissa Chan I am not currently a student mostly because I don't have the money to go to school and don't have the money to go this conference either. My wife wanted to get me tickets for my birthday but we are just broke. I volunteer at my church teaching Apologetics and have started my own website writing on the topic. Lately I have been feeling a pull on my heart and mind which I believe may be God telling me to take my gifts and start a church or teach in the future and this conference could definitely give me counsel and training that could help in these areas. I'm well familiar with several of the speakers and would love to see them in person. Thanks for this opportunity! - Kris Van Houten This summer I'll be starting my senior year at UCSB. I lead an international student ministry and I'm studying communication because I love human interaction. This conference would be an answered prayer because I know in each interaction I have I want to communicate the gospel. Discernment has always been on my top things to pray for, especially between truth and false teaching. Fortunately, that's what the conference is all about. - Phil Kiner Thanks to everyone who responded. Don't forget that you can get cheap group tickets just by getting 2 friends to go with you. Find out how.
