While I didn’t expect much from How to Train Your Dragon, the latest release from Dreamworks, this flick about a misfit named Hiccup pays off visually and in the narrative, evoking biblical parallels about finding your fit in the kingdom and the countercultural role of a peacemaker. Children of all ages can appreciate a story about being an agent of change who invites others out of slavery into a relationship that changes everything.
