Humble Orthodoxy
Listen to the audio of Session 5 with Joshua Harris, senior pastor at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg Maryland, titled: "Humble Orthodoxy." Joshua Harris digs into the text of 2 Timothy 2 in this audio from the Reform & Resurge Conference May 2006. Whose approval are you living for? And what do you have to do to get it? These questions are the questions that Joshua Harris presses for answers to those who are on mission for Jesus. He quickly points out by asking these types of questions one could be building the wrong foundation in which one should operate. Joshua Harris then leads us into building the proper foundation on which we are to live. Pastors who are approved by God teach the truth faithfully, not finding texts to make themselves look good. Pastors who are approved by God must live the truth personally, not just in the "professional life" but all areas of life. Pastors who are approved by God must represent the truth humbly, not using our role or tools as weapons to approve oneself. As we approach our call in this way our message will hold true in all times and we will set the stage for the generation that follows. May this mp3 from Joshua Harris establish a humble theology in your life.
